February 22, 2011 – The Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten has published an article on NATO, US, and the Red Cross and the Bala Baluk massacre on May 4, 2009. The article features a cable that shows the Red Cross put together a report that raised significant doubt about military reports on the number of civilians killed. The cable reveals how a PR campaign kicked into gear to sell the idea that the deaths were not intentional and to skew coverage of the event to fit the interests of NATO and US forces in Afghanistan. The June 13, 2009 cable describes a remarkable meeting that took place at the US Embassy in Kabul. Leader of the Red Cross in Afghanistan, Reto Stocker, has compiled a report with exact figures on the deaths of civilians in an attack that just took place in the village of Bala Baluk Grenari region. US and NATO forces, which contend they were attacking Taliban, dropped bombs leaving a mosque in ruins. They turned the village into “an inferno of screaming, mangled and bloody people.”..

(NaturalNews) On February 4th International Union Against Cancer Day, the World Health Organisation reported that cancer will kill 84 million people by 2015. Of the deadly cancers lung cancer is the leading killer, and smoking is known to be the single most important factor in the development of this disease. Environmental pollution also plays a role in the development of cancers, particularly ordinary traffic pollution largely made up of carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter from diesel fumes.
One of the first studies to link traffic pollution with lung cancer and heart diseases was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2002, based on a 16 year study of 500,000 individuals. This study, headed by the environmental science expert C. Arden Pope, was just one in a long line proving the link between cancer risk and traffic pollution, and this prompted the Environmental Protection agency to limit the fine particulate matter in the air (soot measuring 2.5 microns) to 15 micrograms- per -cubic meter.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer declared diesel fumes to be a class 2A carcinogen in 1989, which means they probably are carcinogenic to humans. In 2005 the Clean Air Task Force (CATF) estimated that diesel fumes are responsible for the death of approximately 21,000 U.S. citizens each year. Diesel fumes are made up of a complex mix of chemicals in the form of soot and gas. How these chemicals interact with one another during combustion can turn them into potentially cancerous agents.
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are formed when burning diesel fuel, and it is these which are classed as probable carcinogens. When the nitrogen dioxide fumes mix with the PAHs they can become highly carcinogenic nitro-PAHs.
Diesel fuel is not the only source of PAHs; they are also formed in char-grilling or barbecuing meat, smoking tobacco, burning garbage and burning coal, oil and gas.
A study out of Spain in July 2007 concluded that living in a city of more than 100,000 for more than 40 years was associated with an increased risk in the development of bladder cancer .
Another study out of Canada in 2008 found an increased risk of developing Non Hodgkin’s lymphoma in people who work regularly with diesel combustion engines, namely farmers and machinists. Non Hodgkin’s lymphoma is one of the blood cancers which is on the rise.
One natural food that can help the body eliminate pollution is chlorella. Chlorella is a powerful antioxidant and detoxifier, and it is particularly helpful for smokers or those subjected to chronic pollution, such as city dwellers. Zeolite is another powerful detoxifier but one should be careful to only choose the cliniptilolite form, which can be taken in odorless drops.

Most major newspapers and media outlets in the world are owned by a handful of multinational corporate giants, who together control the content of what is distributed to the masses. But a recent report in The Seattle Times questions the influence the world’s most powerful foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), has on the media as well. The foundation donates billions of dollars every year to fund “advocacy and policy” programs, and much of this money ends up being distributed as direct payments to media outlets who advocate for the foundation’s interests.
While much of what the BMGF does and says is wrapped in philanthropic language and problem-solving rhetoric, many of its policies, including its support of mass vaccination and genetically-modified organisms (GMO), present a clear conflict of interest when the foundation’s dollars get mixed up in what is ideally supposed to be unbiased journalism. And many are now questioning how severely these payoffs are influencing the media’s handling of important and controversial issues.
According to the Seattle Times report, BMGF donates millions every year to media groups like ABC, The Guardian, The New York Times, PBS, and even The Seattle Times. BMGF also spends millions of dollars training journalists in how to properly advocate for foundation interests, and craft media messages in such a way as to further the foundation’s agendas. So rather than presenting news, many BMGF-funded journalists now present carefully-crafted BMFG talking points to viewers and readers.
Some readers may be thinking, is it really that bad to advocate for programs that help bring awareness to global poverty and disease, and present ideas on how to solve them? Well, concerning BMGF’s open endorsement of widespread vaccinations in developing nations, for instance, Bill Gates late last year explained how the vaccination agenda is part of an overall plan to reduce the world’s population (http://www.naturalnews.com/029911_v…). This fact alone shows that BMGF’s goals are not exactly benign.
Then, there is BMGF’s promotion of GMOs, and its close alliance with biotechnology giant Monsanto. BMGF has allied with Monsanto on many occasions, including recently purchasing 500,000 shares of stock in Monsanto’s experimental vaccine nanotechnology, supporting the development of genetically-modified mosquitoes (http://www.naturalnews.com/030940_B…), and funding efforts to spread Monsanto’s GM seeds throughout developing Africa in order to allegedly solve hunger and starvation (http://www.naturalnews.com/029071_B…).
Speaking to the Times about BMGF’s influence in the media, Mark Miller, professor of media, culture and communications at New York University, perhaps says it best concerning the misnomer that BMGF is purely trying to solve the world’s problems in an open discussion forum via the media.
“We’re not dealing with a lively discussion among players,” he emphasized. “We’re dealing with one gigantic entity … that seems to be very skilled at promoting its agenda.”

“After 4+ years of research since retirement in 2002, I am 100% convinced that the attacks of September 11, 2001 were planned, organized, and committed by treasonous perpetrators that have infiltrated the highest levels of our government.
“We cannot let the pursuit of justice fail. Those of us in the military took an oath to ‘support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic’. Just because we have retired does not make that oath invalid, so it is not just our responsibility, it is our duty to expose the real perpetrators of 9/11 and bring them to justice, no matter how hard it is, how long it takes, or how much we have to suffer to do it.
“We owe it to those who have gone before us who executed that same oath, and who are doing the same thing in Iraq and Afghanistan right now. Those of us who joined the military and faithfully executed orders that were given us had to trust our leaders. The violation and abuse of that trust is not only heinous, but ultimately the most accurate definition of treason!”
NB: WTC Building 7 was 610 feet tall, 47 stories. It would have been the tallest building in 33 states. Although it was not hit by an airplane, it completely collapsed into a pile of rubble in less than 7 seconds at 5:20 p.m. on 9/11, seven hours after the collapses of the Twin Towers. However, no mention of its collapse appears in the 9/11 Commission’s “full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.” Watch the collapse video here <http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/IMAGES/WTC7_Collapse.wmv> .

A very senior diplomatic source told me yesterday that Berlusconi is frantic lest Gadaffi falls and the channels are revealed by which Berlusconi gets a cut on the huge amounts of Libyan oil and gas lifted to Italy. Just at the moment that would be too much even for Berlusconi to survive.
This morning I see the Italian foreign minister is warning 300.000 Libyan refugees will fly to Europe if Gadaffi falls – as though there will be none if he stays. I have checked with other diplomatic sources, and they confirm that Italy is using the refugee warning to argue that Europe should back Gadaffi, and not impose sanctions. That point is not coming over in the mainstream media.
SAO PAULO – The amount of the world’s farmland given over to genetically modified (GM) crops grew 10% last year, with the United States remaining the biggest zone for the altered produce, according to a study released in Brazil Tuesday.
A total of 148 million hectares (366 million acres) are now given over to GM plantations in 29 countries, handled by 15 million farmers, according to the report by the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA).
The United States accounts for nearly half that area, 67 million hectares, growing modified soya, maiz, cotton, rapeseed, squash, papaya, alfafa and beetroot.
Brazil was the second-biggest GM producer with 25 million hectares, much of it growing soya, maiz and cotton.
Anderson Galvao, representing the ISAAA in Brazil, said the Latin American nation was taking on GM crops so rapidly that it has doubled grain production in the past two decades.
Defenders of GM crops stress that they are more resistant to disease and insects, and are more productive.
Detractors fear the new varieties will supplant non-GM vegetation, with unknown long-term consequences for the food chain and environment.
GULFPORT, Mississippi – Baby dolphins are washing up dead along the oil-soaked US Gulf Coast at more than 10 times the normal rate in the first birthing season since the BP disaster, researchers said.
Some 17 baby dolphin corpses have been found along the shorelines of Alabama and Mississippi in the past two weeks, The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies said.
“The average is one or two a month. This year we have 17, and February isn’t even over yet,” said Moby Solangi, director of the Gulfport, Mississippi-based institute.
“For some reason, they’ve started aborting or they were dead before they were born.”
Solangi is awaiting results from a necropsy performed on two of the dolphins Monday to determine a cause of death.
But he called the high numbers an anomaly and said the Deepwater Horizon disaster, which unleashed millions of barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico over three months, likely played a role.
Adult dolphin deaths tripled last year to 89 from a norm of about 30.
“We shouldn’t really jump to any conclusions until we get some results,” Solangi said. “But this is more than just a coincidence.”
Dolphins breed in the spring — around the time of the April 20 explosion that brought down the BP-leased drilling rig — and carry their young for 11 to 12 months.
Birthing season goes into full swing in March and April.
The oil from the spill spread through the water column in massive underwater plumes and also worked its way into the bays and shallow waters where dolphins breed and give birth.
