Has Atlantis been found off Africa?

By Matthew Moore  20th February 2009.   Find Article Here:-

A “grid of streets” on the seabed at one of the proposed locations of the lost city of Atlantis has been spotted on Google Ocean.

Atlantis has been ‘discovered’ many times in the past.
In 1997, Russian scientists claimed to have found it 100 miles off Land’s End.
Three years later, a ruined town was found under 300ft of water off the north coast of Turkey in the Black Sea.
An American architect used sonar in 2004 to reveal man-made walls a mile deep in the Mediterranean between Cyprus and Syria.
In 2007, Swedish researchers claimed the city lay on the Dogger Bank in the North Sea, which was submerged in the Bronze Age.
And as recently as February 2011, what appeared to be grid-like lines that resembled city streets were spotted on Google Earth – in the ocean off the coast of Africa.
Sadly Google itself quickly debunked the suggestion, explaining that the lines were left by a boat as it collected data for the application.
Make of this what you will….

The network of criss-cross lines is 620 miles off the coast of north west Africa near the Canary Islands on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean.

The perfect rectangle – which is around the size of Wales – was noticed on the search giant’s underwater exploration tool by an aeronautical engineer who claims it looks like an “aerial map” of a city.

The underwater image can be found at the co-ordinates 31 15’15.53N 24 15’30.53W.

Last night Atlantis experts said that the unexplained grid is located at one of the possible sites of the legendary island, which was described by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato.

According to his account, the city sank beneath the ocean after its residents made a failed effort to conquer Athens around 9000 BC.

Dr Charles Orser, curator of historical archaeology at New York State University told The Sun that the find was fascinating and warranted further inspection.

“The site is one of the most prominent places for the proposed location of Atlantis, as described by Plato,” the Atlantis expert said. “Even if it turns out to be geographical, it definitely deserves a closer look.”

Bernie Bamford, 38, of Chester who spotted the “city”, compared it to the plan of Milton Keynes, the Buckinghamshire town built on a grid design. “It must be man made,” he said.

Google Ocean, an extension of Google Earth, allows web users to virtually explore the ocean with thousands of images of underwater landscapes.

Launched earlier this month, it lets users swim around underwater volcanoes, watch videos about exotic marine life, read about nearby shipwrecks, contribute photos and watch unseen footage of historic ocean expeditions.

The legend of Atlantis has excited the public imagination for centuries. In recent years “evidence” of the lost kingdom has been found off the coast of Cyprus and in southern Spain.

Plato described it as an island “larger than Libya and Asia put together” in front of the Pillars of Hercules – the Straits of Gibraltar. He said Atlantis was a land of fabulous wealth, advanced civilisation and natural beauty destroyed by earthquakes and floods 9,000 years earlier.

Everything Is a Remix.

This is well worth a watch.  It’s in four parts and has already had a great deal of Internet interest.

Everything is a Remix is produced by, Kirby Ferguson, a New York-based filmmaker. This site is a companion piece to the four-part video series. The first three episodes of the series have been published and part four was released in late November 2011.

Libyan rebels cage black Africans in zoo, force feed them flags.

March 3rd 2012.  Find Full Article and Video Here:-

A shocking video has appeared on the Internet showing Libyan rebels torturing a group of black Africans. People with their hands bound are shown being locked in a zoo-like cage and allegedly forced to eat the old Libyan flag.

“Eat the flag, you dog. Patience you dog, patience. God is Great,” screams a voice off-camera in the video uploaded to YouTube last week, which also made its way onto

The torturers are also shown making the group of captive black Africans stand up with pieces of green cloth still in their mouths and apparently forcing them start jumping.

A number of people are shown standing outside the cage watching the atrocity.

After Muammar Gaddafi was killed, hundreds of migrant workers from neighboring states were imprisoned by fighters allied to the new interim authorities.

They accuse the black Africans of having been mercenaries for the late ruler.

Fukushima plume model shows — Based solely on Reactor No. 1 explosion.

Follow-up to: US Regulator: We’ve got to stop labs from testing for Fukushima radiation — “Tell them to back off” — Worried about them talking to press about ‘consequences’

The following study appeared recently in the Journal of Environmental Radioactivity. A previous report ‘New Study: Aerosolized plutonium from Fukushima detected in Europe — Spent fuel indicated‘ was based on the abstract available online at that time.

RAF accused of covering up almost 150 airstrikes on Taliban by unmanned drones.

By Ian Drury   3rd March 2012.   Find Full Article Here:-

Major General Andrew Mackay, who commanded British forces in the warzone in 2007, said the mission in Afghanistan had been a 'series of misadventures and strategic blunders'
Major General Andrew Mackay, said the mission in Afghanistan had been a ‘series of misadventures and strategic blunders’.

Britain was accused tonight of covering up nearly 60 per cent of airstrikes by controversial drones in Afghanistan.

Nearly 150 attacks by RAF unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against Taliban fighters are ‘secret and unreported’, an investigation has found.

The figures were published as the senior UK officer who led Prince Harry in to battle in Helmand said UAV strikes on key insurgent commanders in Afghanistan and Pakistan made peace less likely.

In a scathing assessment of the 11-year conflict Major General Andrew Mackay, who commanded British forces in the warzone in 2007, said the mission in Afghanistan had been a ‘series of misadventures and strategic blunders’.

Maj Gen Mackay, 52,  who led 52 Brigade when it wrested the key town of Musa Qala from the enemy, said: ‘I am perfectly relaxed about killing the Taliban.

‘Where I think we get it horribly wrong is when we do indiscriminate drone attacks on the Taliban leadership across in Pakistan or in Afghanistan without understanding the consequences of those attacks.’

The MoD vehemently denied covering up details of drone attacks, insisting that those not published often had security implications.

The new report by transparency website Drone Wars UK is the first time UK strikes by UAVs – pilotless planes controlled from thousands of miles away – have been collated.

The £10million Reaper drones from the RAF’s 39 Squadron are mainly used for surveillance and reconnaissance – sending real-time and recorded camera images back to base.

The state-of-the-art footage allows Britain to smash the insurgents’ bomb-making networks and protect UK soldiers.

But increasingly UAVs are being deployed to launch precision-guided Hellfire 2 missile from thousands of feet.

NHS privatisation: Compilation of financial and vested interests.

From Social Investigations, Saturday, 18th February 2012.  Find Full Article and List Here:-

This list represents the dire state of our democracy. The financial and vested interests of our MPs and Lords in private healthcare. Why are these people allowed to be in charge of our NHS, to vote on a bill that they clearly have something to gain from. Who cares that they have put it in the register of interests. This doesn’t excuse their interests, it merely highlights clearly why they should have no part in voting for the privatisation of the NHS. It is privatisation, despite the media’s continued use of the word ‘reforms’. The question must be asked. Are they public servants or corporate servants?

The list is long, and could surely be longer, I make no apology for that, tragically that is the reality of our politics today; and although the majority of vested interest lies with the Conservatives, as you might expect, it is however a cross party issue. It is compiled from accessible and trusted sources throughout the Internet. If one of these listed is your MP, then contact them and let them know you will not be voting for them again if this bill goes through. If the Lord is under your area, email them and let them know what you think. If there are others to be added, then please let me know with link to source – as this is by no means a complete list. Equally if you think someone should not be on here, then please say with reason and then they may come off if justified as the list should be as strong as possible.

Depleted Uranium Measured in British Atmosphere from Battlefields in the Middle East.

This is from 2006, but I was reminded of this article whilst talking with a friend about the fallout from Fukushima.

By Leuren Moret 26th February 2006.  Find Full Article Here:-

The Sunday Times Online, February 19, 2006, reported on a shocking scientific study authored by British scientists Dr. Chris Busby and Saoirse Morgan: “Did the use of Uranium weapons in Gulf War 2 result in contamination of Europe? Evidence from the measurements of the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), Aldermaston, Berkshire, UK”. The highest levels of depleted uranium ever measured in the atmosphere in Britain, were transported on air currents from the Middle East and Central Asia; of special significance were those from the Tora Bora bombing in Afghanistan in 2001, and the “Shock & Awe” bombing during Gulf War II in Iraq in 2003. Out of concern for the public, the official British government air monitoring facility, known as the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), at Aldermaston was established years ago, to measure radioactive emissions from British nuclear power plants and atomic weapons facilities.

The British government facility (AWE) was taken over 3 years ago by Halliburton, which refused at first to release air monitoring data, as required by law, to Dr. Busby. An international expert on low level radiation, Busby serves as an official advisor on several British government committees, and co-authored an independent report on low level radiation with 45 scientists, the European Committee on Radiation Risk (ECRR), for the European Parliament. He was able to get Aldermaston air monitoring data from Halliburton /AWE by filing a Freedom of Information request using a new British law which became effective January 1, 2005; but the data for 2003 was missing. He obtained the 2003 data from the Defence Procurement Agency.

The fact that the air monitoring data was circulated by Halliburton/AWE to the Defence Procurement Agency, implies that it was considered to be relevant, and that Dr. Busby was stonewalled because Halliburton/AWE clearly recognized that it was a serious enough matter to justify a government interpretation of the results, and official decisions had to be made about what the data would show and its political implications for the military. In a similar circumstance, in 1992, Major Doug Rokke, the Director of the U.S. Army Depleted Uranium Cleanup Project after Gulf War I, was ordered by a U.S. Army General officer to write a no-bid contract “Depleted Uranium, Contaminated Equipment, and Facilities Recovery Plan Outline” for the procedures for cleaning up Kuwait, including depleted uranium, for Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR), a subsidiary of Halliburton. The contract/proposal was passed through Madeleine Albright, the Secretary of State, to the Emirate of Kuwait, who considered the terms and then hired KBR for the cleanup.
